Plenty to do!
Rockcliffe has a charming sandy, safe beach with rockpools. It is perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding; sailing and sandcastles. Tide tables are provided in the house – there is a large tidal reach of which you should be aware. There is a small cafe in Rockcliffe and usually an ice-cream van. There is ample parking at the top of the village.
There is an easy walk along the Jubilee Footpath to the next village, Kippford, the sailing centre, where there are 2 pubs which provide food. The local shop at Colvend (1 mile away) has everything you need for starting your holiday.
Dalbeattie is 6 miles away with Coop, butchers and baker, and Post Office. More extensive shopping is at Castle Douglas – 20 mins drive – large Tesco and variety of independent food shops.
